After we saw the news about the flood coming to our area we started to clean up our house and make sure that we are ready for the flood. We bought sand bags to stop the water from coming in our house but unfortunately the water level was too high. After the flood crisis my family and I had to move to another place because my house was flooded and we can’t live there because there is no electricity. We evacuated to Petchaburi. In Petchaburi there is no access to internet which made it really hard for me to do homework. While my family and I were at Petchaburi, my parents have gone back and forth to work. By the way, my current situation right now is that I am in Petchaburi and I am heading to Bangkok to go to school on Monday.
The flood that is happening right now in Thailand has a great impact on the Thai economy because Thailand’s mass products are all ruined by the flood. Especially the rice in the central part of Thailand that got flooded for example Ayutthaya. The food shortage that is happening in Thailand caused many markets to sell food with really high prices. The economy in Thailand has gotten worst because the rice that we suppose to export to foreign countries is less. The tourist attraction was mostly damaged by the flood which causes a lesser amount of tourist to come and visit Thailand because they are scared about their own safety and fear that they will have to suffer from the flood. With this, the percentage of tourists decreased in Thailand and therefore affects the economy and the money that is coming into the country.
As an individual I can help with flood relief by donating money to the people who is facing flood or having a fund raiser. After the flood I can go around and help other people clean their houses or maybe visit them and support them emotionally, that there will be something good afterwards. My moral compass says that I have to help people that are struggling. Finally I want to give hope for the people who are suffering from the flood and hope they are all well.
